UTokyo College of Design
Jason has been appointed University Lecturer at the University of Tokyo 東京大学, where he will be teaching international human rights law at the UTokyo College of Design beginning in the fall semester of 2027.
Scheduled to launch its first classes in September 2027, the UTokyo College of Design represents a historic milestone for the University of Tokyo as its first new undergraduate faculty establishment in nearly 70 years. Guided by its motto, "See the World Through Design. Then Change It", this innovative program redefines design beyond traditional aesthetics, framing it instead as a holistic methodology for reshaping social systems, technology, and environments.
Each year, a diverse cohort of 100 students from around the world will be selected to join the 5-year multidisciplinary program that aims to cultivate global "change makers" capable of navigating complex contemporary issues. The course Jason teaches—Framework of International Human Rights Law 国際人権法の枠組み—is part of "Governance & Markets", one of the five domains under the College's Interdisciplinary Perspectives (IP) curriculum. More details about the course will follow.
